SOMERVILLE, Mass., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Spotify, the music streaming service, is partnering with The Echo Nest's music intelligence platform to help develop Spotify's playlist and music discovery functions. Spotify, one of the world's fastest-growing music streaming services, sees the partnership as an important part of its evolving recommendation system.

The Echo Nest is a one-of-a-kind machine learning platform created by two MIT PhDs that listens to and reads about music all over the web to enable better music search, recommendation and interactivity.

A sneak preview of a prototype Spotify playlist and discovery feature was unveiled by The Echo Nest at today's San Francisco Music Tech Summit.
