LONDON, May 19/PRNewswire/ -- A BBC Poetry Season football video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ej6v7yNLN8) has been created solely for the web. This video uses the idea of a breaking news story of a football signing as a surprising place for hearing a poem - 'Jerusalem' by William Blake.
A second exclusive Poetry Season rock video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyNzXZka2pk) sees The King Blues, an upcoming band (new single, I Got Love, released 4th May) end their gig with an edgy rendition of 'We'll go no more a roving' by Lord Byron.
The list below is of some of the artists who have submitted a video to this year's poetry season. Each video is a personal account on the poetry that has inspired their life.
- Alex James - Musician, Blur (Cocaine Diaries) - Michelle Ryan - Actress (Eastenders) - Nihal - (Radio 1 DJ) - Bill Drummond - Musician (KLF) - Matt Abbott aka Skint & Demoralised - Northern soul inspired musician / Spoken word artist - Miquita Oliver - Presenter (T4) - Anthony Horrowitz - Writer (Alex Rider / Foyle's War)
All of the above videos can be found on the BBC Youtube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/bbc)
