Univision Online to Become Univision Interactive Media; Kevin Conroy Named President
NEW YORK, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Univision Communications Inc., the nation's leading Spanish-language media company, today announced that Univision Online has been renamed Univision Interactive Media and Kevin Conroy, former executive vice president of AOL, has been named president of the division, effective Monday, January 12, 2008. Conroy will be based in New York and report directly to chief executive officer Joe Uva.
In addition to encompassing Univision.com, the #1 most-visited Spanish-language website among U.S. Hispanics, Univision Interactive Media will include Univision Movil, the industry's most comprehensive Spanish-language suite of mobile offerings, including in-show wireless integrations, mobile video, SMS and Premium SMS programs, mobile portals, mobile advertising and an extensive downloadable content catalog.

Conroy comes to Univision with more than 17 years of experience in a number of senior roles in online media, including in programming, marketing, distribution and operations. Conroy spent eight years at AOL, most recently as executive vice president of Global Products and Marketing, where he oversaw development and execution of the company's marketing strategies, new distribution models and partnerships, and AOL's desktop, Mobile and IPTV products for the U.S. and 30 countries around the globe. Prior to that, Conroy held several other senior positions at AOL including executive vice president and chief operating officer of AOL for Broadband and senior vice president and general manager of AOL Entertainment.
Prior to AOL, Conroy was chief marketing officer and president of New Technology at BMG Entertainment, a division of Bertelsmann AG, where he was responsible for overseeing all marketing and new media development for BMG's businesses, and managed the worldwide marketing campaigns for some of the world's biggest artists. Prior to BMG Entertainment, he was vice president, Marketing at CBS/FOX VIDEO.
Conroy serves on the Boards of Network for Good and RecycleBank and is a graduate of Bowdoin College.
