Timberland to Produce Eco-Centric 'Woman On The Street' Interviews for Its Earthkeeper Network at Sundance Film Festival, With Host Annabelle Gurwitch

Environmental Activist, Author, and Actress Will Be Official Interviewer for Outdoor Lifestyle Brand

STRATHAM, N.H., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Timberland Company announced today that environmental activist, author and actress Annabelle Gurwitch will serve as host for interviews produced exclusively for their Earthkeeper Network during the upcoming 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Gurwitch will be on-site at the Festival to conduct candid and often humorous interviews with top-tier celebrities and Festival attendees, focusing on the excitement of Sundance as well as sharing insider tips on everyday environmental efforts that we can all make. These interviews will be broadcast starting in early February on Earthkeeper.com, Timberland.com and other Timberland media channels.

Ms. Gurwitch states, "I'm elated to be working with Timberland at the Sundance Film Festival." She continues, "It's not often that someone is presented with the opportunity to partner with a respected, world-renowned brand that truly shares their core beliefs and interests. Timberland and I are both extremely passionate about the environment and there's no better place than Sundance to promote different ways to lessen our impact upon it."

Gurwitch has had a unique and impressive career in environmental activism over the past several years, including her featured participation in Planet Green's "WA$TED." She is known for taking on social issues and giving them her own brand of humor and perspective. She has been a columnist with The Nation magazine and is a regular commentator on NPR.

In addition to collaborating with Gurwitch, Timberland is supporting the Festival's recycling bins and public transit maps. Timberland's on-site Earthkeeper Network initiatives will augment the brand's sponsorship of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. As the Official Footwear and Outerwear supplier of this year's Festival, Timberland designed and manufactured the exclusive and sought-after filmmaker and juror jackets. Additionally, the company is providing filmmakers and jurors with the Earthkeepers(TM) and Polar Chill boots, featuring recycled materials.
