Lady Gaga Hits #1 With Global Pop Smash 'Just Dance' and Preps for 'The Fame Ball'

THE SONG HITS #1 SIMULTANEOUSLY IN THE U.S. & U.K.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy-nominee Lady Gaga this week hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 with her debut single, "Just Dance." The song has already hit #1 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and simultaneously this week in the U.K. The track has also been a Top 10 hit in 7 other countries.

Originally from New York City, Lady Gaga released her debut album, The Fame, in October 2008. She has not only made her mark as a recording artist, but also as a songwriter - her compositions have been recorded by Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block. She capped off an amazing 2008 with a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording for her infectious smash "Just Dance."

After she returns from an opening stint with The Pussycat Dolls on their sold-out European tour in January/February, Lady Gaga will return to the U.S. to headline "The Fame Ball" - a tour experience unlike any other, sponsored by Dylan George Jeans. Also featuring White Tie Affair and Chester French (whose debut album, Love the Future, will be out in March), "The Fame Ball" kicks off on March 12th in San Diego, CA at The House of Blues.
