Standard Renewable Energy, KPRC-TV Launch 'Sunbelievable Home Energy Makeover' Sweepstakes

HOUSTON, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard Renewable Energy (SRE) and KPRC-TV announced today that they are embarking on one of the largest sweepstakes programs Houston has ever seen with the launch of the "Sunbelievable Home Energy Makeover" Sweepstakes.

One lucky Houstonian will win the grand prize of a home energy makeover courtesy of SRE. The prize package, worth $33,000, includes a 2-kilowatt solar panel system, a new high-efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, plus an additional $2,000 in customized energy efficiency upgrades, providing hundreds of dollars in savings on monthly utility bills.

Two-hundred additional winners will receive the SRE Home Energy Cost Monitor -- a tool that provides homeowners with energy-efficiency facts in real-time -- a $249 value, which includes installation. The SRE Home Energy Cost Monitor provides homeowners answers to these and other energy-related questions:

   --  How much electricity is used while you are away?   --  How much electricity do your appliances use?   --  How much does it cost to leave your lights on?    

Additionally, the first 10,000 "Sunbelievable Sweepstakes" entrants will win $200 in SRE "Green Bucks." Winners must use the first $150 towards an SRE Essential Home Energy Audit, an evaluation and analysis of a home to determine how it uses energy, wastes it and options for saving energy and money. The remaining $50 may be used on a wide variety of SRE products and services, including:

   --  SRE Home Energy Cost Monitors   --  Programmable thermostats   --  A/C and furnace maintenance plans   --  A/C or furnace system upgrades   --  Insulation   --  Window film   --  Solar electric and solar water heating systems

The 10-week "Sunbelievable Sweepstakes" will officially begin on Monday, Jan. 19 and will be followed by launches in Dallas, Denver, Austin and San Antonio on Monday, Feb. 2. The contest ends on Sunday, March 29 in all markets. The grand prize and second-place winners will be drawn on Monday, April 13.
