Media Preview of the Exhibition CSI: The Experience at the California Science Center
What: The media preview for CSI: The Experience will take place on January 28, 2009. Visitors to the California Science Center will experience the newest edition of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation by playing the role of forensic scientists in CSI: The Experience. Inspired by the hit CBS television series, the traveling exhibit highlights the process of scientific inquiry and state-of-the-art investigation techniques used to solve crimes. It opens to the public on January 31 and runs through April 26. Free admission.
Who: Actor George Eads, who plays the role of Nick Stokes on CSI, will be on-site and available for interviews.
Students from the Science Center School will also be present. Exhibit Visuals: -- Investigate three crime scenes: a suburban living room, a hotel alley, and a remote desert. Each scene represents a very different crime mystery. Go through the exhibit to identify and gather evidence; analyze materials with the help of the latest scientific and technological advances and formulate hypotheses about the crime. -- Explore two separate crime labs where you can interact with the state-of-the-art technology used in evidence analysis. Trace vehicle tracks, clothing fibers, and paint chips. Collect data from mass spectrometry and microscope analysis. Evaluate digital evidence provided by cell phones, fingerprints, blood patterns, and ammunition casings. -- Examine forensic art and use age progression techniques to assist in matching an image with a victim. At the end of the exhibit, use the scientific information you gathered to answer a survey, and a case summary of everything you have gathered will be generated. www.californiasciencecenter.org
