Network Delivers Largest Gross Audience in its History and Drives Penetration into 5 Million Hispanic Households
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Fox Sports en Espanol, the leader in sports in Spanish-language cable, kicked off the new year with a notable spike in ratings with the exclusive broadcast of the InterLiga(TM) tournament. The match on January 3 made ratings history for the network, when the two most dominant Mexican teams, Chivas of Guadalajara and Club America, confronted each other and engaged the largest gross audience delivery in the history of the network, with over one million viewers (persons 18 thru 49). The network peaked at 1.5 million viewers and reported a national rating of 3.25, seizing over 700,000 persons 18-49. Furthermore, the industry leader reached another milestone this year as it reached over 5 million Hispanic households.

InterLiga(TM) Finals Culminate with Record-Breaking Ratings
On Sunday, January 11, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, Chivas of Guadalajara was crowned the champions after it defeated Monarcas of Morelia, while F.C. Pachuca beat Atlas of Guadalajara.
The finals delivered an overall 1.7 national coverage rating (persons 18- 49) peaking at 568,000 viewers. The total tournament delivered an average of 512,000 viewers, reaching a 1.5 national rating in persons 18-49, showing a 25% increase over last year.
Fox Sports en Espanol will keep the momentum going in the first half of 2009 by delivering exclusive coverage of the most in-demand tournaments in the Americas. The outcome of last week's InterLiga(TM) tournament determined the final two berths in the prestigious Copa Santander Libertadores. Pachuca and Chivas will join San Luis as the coveted tournament celebrates its 50th Anniversary, kicking off its exclusive coverage on Fox Sports en Espanol on January 27.
