3D@Home Consortium Members Bring 3D Products to CES 2009

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- 3D content, hardware and technology will move to the spotlight and will be featured at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), January 8-11, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev. The 3D@Home Consortium (www.3dathome.org), which is composed of 40 companies who are working together to speed the adoption of high-quality 3D into the home, announced today that the following member companies will publicly demonstrate 3D products at CES:

3ality Digital -- 3ality Digital, LLC will present a live 3D broadcast of the Fed Ex BCS Championship Game between the University of Florida and the University of Oklahoma on Thurs., Jan. 8. The 3D broadcast will be sponsored by Sony and seen by more than 1,200 invited guests at the Consumer Electronics Show in the RealD-enabled theater in the Paris Hotel and Casino's Theatre des Arts in Las Vegas. In addition, 3ality Digital is partnering with Fox Sports and Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. to bring the game to more than 80 theaters, marking the first time a live 3D broadcast will be available to consumers nationally. Da-Lite Screen -- Da-Lite Screen Company-the world's largest projection screen manufacturer will be displaying its products in two booths at CES 2009 -- in South 1 Hall, booths 20956 and 20358. In the first booth, Da-Lite will be displaying its 3D Virtual Grey front-projection screen material, which was designed specifically for 3D projection and maintains 99% polarization. DDD Group -- DDD Group is showing its TriDef(R) Core embedded 3D image processor that allows the playback of 3D from 2D original content using a wide range of sources including Blu-Ray(R) discs and DVDs. The capability opens a direct in-home distribution channel for the latest generation of 3D movies in production for the growing 3D digital cinema market. This technology will be displayed on the Hyundai IT 46" 3D LCD HDTV in Booth Central 13638 at CES.

Dolby -- Visit Dolby at multiple locations in the South 1 Hall, Booth 20901-22128 for an update on the company's activities in 3D.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America -- Demonstrations of Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc.'s 3D equipment can be viewed at a CEA's "Unveiled" press event at The Venetian on Tuesday, January 6, and at a number of booths at CES, including NVIDIA, Sensio, TDVision, Dolby, and ArcSoft. TDVision Systems -- TDVision presents full high-definition, 1920x1080p per eye, offering stereoscopic 3D content on their headsets and for Blu-Ray(R) and broadcast. Visit TDVision at CES in the South 1 Hall, Booth 21425.

According to Mark Hartney, managing director of the 3D@ Home Consortium, "CES is an excellent forum to see the progress being achieved by 3D system developers and content providers. The rapid rate of development has significantly increased the industry's interest in working together on format and distribution issues -- and the Consortium has seen a correlation in membership growth and activity within the steering teams."
