Moscow: One Weekend, Two Unique Concerts: - The "Dedication to Guarneri del Gesu" Featuring Three Violins of Guarneri del Gesu, Followed by the Grand Opening of the "December Evenings" Concerts

LONDON, November 24/PRNewswire/ -- On the weekend of November 29th-30th, 2008 The Investment Programme Foundation is proud to announce that it is holding two unique concerts - the "Dedication to Guarneri del Gesu" and the Grand opening of the "December concerts" evenings.

Beginning on Saturday in the Grand Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, the world famous Zukerman Chamber Players: Pinchas Zukerman (violin), Amanda Forsyth (cello) and Jessica Linnenbach (violin) will perform pieces by Elgar, Vivaldi, Bach and Beethoven accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Great Britain).

The special feature of this concert is that three unique violins which were crafted by the world's greatest violin maker Guarneri del Gesu will sound on one stage. The "Ex-Vieuxtemps" 1741 violin was purchased in January, 2008 by Maxim Viktorov, the Chairman of The Investment Programme Foundation's Council. The "Dushkin" 1742 violin belongs to Pinchas Zukerman and the "Ysaye" 1741 violin has been kindly lent by the Nippon Music Foundation, whose President Kazuko Shiomi will be guest of honour of the concert.

The next evening The Investment Programme Foundation is holding a private reception at the A.S. Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts to celebrate the Grand opening of the "December evenings of Svyatoslav Richter".

Three hundred people are attending the Grand opening - a concert by The Zukerman Chamber Players during which the musicians will perform pieces of Elgar, Dvorjak and Brahms.

The annual "December evenings" musical festivals have been held at the Museum since 1981. They were first started by the legendary late Soviet pianist Svyatoslav Richter and the Director of the State Museum of Fine Arts Irina Aleksandrovna Antonova. The theory behind the "December evenings" is the culural representation of different epochs in a harmonious unity of music, paintings, poetry and dramatic art.

The "December evenings" festivals each have their own individual theme. This year the theme of the 26th International Musical Festival "December evenings of Svyatoslav Richter" is "Dedication to Turner: Image and Sound", in honour of the English painter J.M.W. Turner.

Concert invitations are free and we would be happy to see you among our guests.
