NEW YORK, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to tough economic times, the internationally renowned Academy will provide an early gift for the Holiday Season: a limited number of Intensive Filmmaking and Acting Workshops on eBay, with opening bids starting at 99 cents. The course tuition price is normally $2,500. The workshops are held in New York City and Universal Studios, Los Angeles over an eight-week term from December 1 to January 24. Winners will have the opportunity to attend one workshop at either New York or Los Angeles.
eBay members can join the online auction at http://www.nyfa.com/ebay from October 1.
The New York Film Academy is an intensive hands-on film and acting school devoted to providing the most focused filmmaking, acting, producing, screenwriting, and animation instruction in the world. Its workshops offer an intensive, hands-on experience, which gives the students the opportunity to develop their creative skills to the fullest extent possible.
The Academy was founded in Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Film Center on a belief that a top-quality education in filmmaking should be accessible to anyone with the drive and ambition to make films. It holds One-Year, Two-Year Conservatory, MFA and short-term programs.
The Academy is honored to be the film school choice of many Hollywood filmmakers and their families, including the son of Steven Spielberg; the son of actors Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins; the daughter of director Peter Bogdanovich; and the son of Kevin Kline. And yet some of the best films to come out of the New York Film Academy are from students with no connections to the film industry.
eBay members can begin bidding from October 1.
