FREE Movies for Children at MJR Digital Theatres!

Children's Fall Film Festival October 11 - November 2, 2008

OAK PARK, Mich., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Weekends at the movies are always popular among kids and adults. MJR Digital Theatres, metro Detroit's oldest and largest locally owned theatre chain, is making the movie-going experience irresistible for six weeks this fall by offering FREE select movies for children, 12 and under, every Saturday and Sunday, October 11 through November 2, 2008. It's part of MJR's Free Children's Fall Film Festival.

The free children's movies are available at all seven MJR Digital Theatres in Adrian, Brighton, Chesterfield, Sterling Heights, Southgate, Waterford and The Mall at Partridge Creek.

   The featured movies in the Fall Film Festival are:    -- Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 - Space Chimps (G)   -- Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 - Kung Fu Panda (PG)   -- Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26 - Kit Kittredge: An      American Girl (G)   -- Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2 - Meet Dave (G)    

While it's free for kids 12 and under, admission for adults attending the Fall Film Festival is only $1. Advance tickets are not available; call MJR Digital Theatres for show times.

MJR Digital Theatres offer superior digital sound and digital high-definition movie projection along with stadium seating in all of its 116 screens. It was the first Metro Detroit-area chain to offer digital sound and its owner, Mike Mihalich, was the first to offer modern stadium seating when he owned the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak.

And for added value, MJR has free refills on any size pop and popcorn, including specially priced kidpacks.

On Thursday, November 6, MJR will give moviegoers an opportunity to view first run movies for free when it hosts its second annual "Canned Film Festival." This canned food drive to feed the area's hungry is sponsored by 96.3 WDVD, 93.1 Doug FM and the Gleaners Community Food Bank. On that Thursday evening from 4 - 10 p.m., a minimum donation of five cans of food gets you free admission to any MJR Digital Theatre (excluding Adrian).
