The Franciscan Sisters recognize Chris Hillman during this month of celebrating St. Francis, drifter and dreamer. A pioneer of the genre known as Country Rock, Hillman's career has spanned five decades. He's been instrumental in developing and popularizing contemporary American music as an original member of the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers with Gram Parsons. More recently, he scored a number of hits with the Desert Rose Band.

"Drifting" is a gentle reflection on a world "where no one had to be first, drifting in a dream of love's surrender." According to Hillman, "Drifting" "basically describes a "Heavenly Environment" or aspiring for "Heaven on Earth": "We tried to convey a Christian message, as do most of the songs I recorded on 'The Other Side' CD."
