OurStage Launches New Social Tools to Connect Artists, Fans and Industry Professionals

New Features Enable Extensive Music Discovery, Live Streaming, Chat, Photo and Video Sharing

BOSTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- OurStage (www.OurStage.com), a music discovery destination providing professional opportunities for up-and-coming talent, today announced the launch of PartyLine and Sort 4 Judging -- two new social tools that further connect artists, fans and industry professionals. The new additions augment OurStage's music discovery features and provide fans with additional opportunities to access, discover and rank new music, while providing artists with helpful resources to advance their careers and secure first-class gigs.

"We realize the fundamental component of our model is to bring artists and fans together," said Ben Campbell, founder and CEO of OurStage. "With these new social utilities, we are enhancing the music discovery experience and providing fans and artists alike with an unmatched interactive approach to stay connected. Though other services offer fan/artist interaction, OurStage takes it even further by converting the feedback received to help market and promote emerging talent."

PartyLine is a unique feature that allows fans and artists to create private chat rooms and invite friends to share streaming music, photos and videos from OurStage artists. The new feature provides an innovative way for artists to stay connected to fans by receiving real-time feedback on songs and performances. Additionally, PartyLine introduces a live video feature this week, giving artists the opportunity to perform live concerts for fans and further strengthen the fan-artist connection.

OurStage is also rolling out Sort 4 Judging, a new judging engine that allows users to listen to four songs and then drag each song into the "Drop Zone" ranking them in order from best to worst. Sort 4 Judging is also available as a widget that can be published across other websites. OurStage's current voting engine puts two songs against one another, and allows users to select the one they prefer. Sort 4 Judging will complement the existing OurStage voting engine, providing fans with another fun, engaging, approach to vote for their favorite artists.

September also marks the company's first anniversary. Since launching out of Beta, OurStage has established strong ties in the music industry through deals with Live Nation, AOL Music, Noise Pop, Bonnaroo, Bumbershoot, CMJ, and many others. Through these relationships, Ourstage has awarded more than 75 slots to popular OurStage acts at major national music festivals and numerous mentoring sessions with top recording artists such as John Legend and G. Love.

Other successes include Tommy Boy Entertainment signing OurStage breakout artist PLUSHGUN in June, a deal based in large part on their OurStage site ranking. In addition, the company is enjoying major success with its jobs Marketplace, an online gig and talent finder launched in July.
