MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- RightNOW! and LIFETIME Networks, in partnership with Rock the Vote and women's clothing retailer White House Black Market, hosted "Political Chicks a Go-Go" last night -- a special women's event at the Republican National Convention to celebrate women's leadership. The event was part of RightNOW's commitment to involving women in public policy, LIFETIME's Every Woman Counts nonpartisan campaign to engage women in the political process and Rock the Vote's nonpartisan initiative to increase youth voter turnout.

The party featured special guests country music star John Rich, of the multi-platinum Warner Bros. Records duo, Big & Rich, and rising country trio Carter's Chord. It was held at Bar Fly in the Minneapolis Theater District.

Carter's Chord wrote an original theme song for LIFETIME'S Every Woman Counts campaign and performed it last night. John Rich sang "Raisin' McCain" and Meghan McCain and the Blogettes stopped by to show support.

Due to Hurricane Gustav, party sponsors RightNOW!, LIFETIME Networks, Rock the Vote, and White House Black Market along with other sponsors turned the Late Night Party into a benefit for the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Red Cross volunteers were at the party to accept contributions.
