"Overall political interest in 2008 is quite high since we're approaching what should be a watershed election. We knew interest would be high and we delivered to our viewers a bounty of convention coverage," said Jon Gorchow, vice president and general manager of CN8, The Comcast Network. "Whether it was live on TV, via the Internet, through ON DEMAND or with our new video blog entries, we had something for everyone -- at any time. And our ratings, ON DEMAND orders and Web hits proved that we made up for where the networks lagged."

Some of the highlights of CN8's convention coverage included:

-- More than 30 hours of live programming featured 47 live hits from the conventions.

-- Guests included a veritable "who's who" of Delaware Valley politics. Democratic guests included Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, N.J. Gov. Jon Corzine, U.S. Sen. Robert Casey and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley. Republican guests included former Pa. Gov. Tom Ridge, former N.J. Gov. Christine Whitman, former N.J. Gov. Tom Kean and Renee Amoore, deputy chair of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania.

-- CN8 D.C. Bureau Chief Robert Traynham and Special Contributor Larry Kane conducted 23 interviews on location from Denver and St. Paul and did talkbacks or crosstalk 24 times. Host/Political Director Lynn Doyle interviewed 48 guests in studio.

-- Video ON DEMAND generated nearly 10,000 orders, with availability continuing until Sept. 19. Speeches by the candidates themselves from both parties drew the highest order rates.

-- More than 50 speeches were carried in some form -- live, taped or in progress.

-- Exclusive interviews and Vlogs by Kane and Traynham were posted regularly to the award-winning Web site at www.CN8.tv.

Although coverage of the two conventions is now complete, CN8's "America's Next President," a year-long series of political programming will continue. Extensive coverage will be announced for the weeks leading to the election, as well as for the Nov. 4 election day and the January 2009 inauguration.
