Cinergy MetroNet Deploys Integra5's Platform to Offer Personalized Converged Communications Services
Innovative fiber-to-the-premises provider launches TV Caller ID with Call Log, Network Address Book and advanced customization features
WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Integra5, the leader in 'blending the bundle' into new communications experiences that span multiple consumer devices, today announced that all-fiber optic network service provider Cinergy MetroNet has deployed Integra5's Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP) to power the market-wide launch of i5's TV Caller ID application. The service -- which includes advanced subscriber personalization features -- is part of Cinergy MetroNet's strategy to deliver value-added services that drive customer loyalty and new revenues across its bundled offerings.
Based on a cutting-edge, fiber-to-the-premises network, Cinergy MetroNet provides feature-rich phone, high-speed Internet and cable television services, along with advanced features such as HD and DVR, to commercial and residential customers throughout the Midwest. Cinergy MetroNet is including the service -- marketed as Caller ID on TV -- as part of its high-value triple play bundle and is also offering it for a separate fee of $2.95 per month to subscribers of its dual play TV and phone services. By accessing a Network Address Book via Cinergy MetroNet's customer Web portal, subscribers can organize contacts for Caller ID on TV notifications and customize them with photos and nicknames. Subscribers can also view a Call Log on TV -- which shows the names, numbers, dates and times of recent calls -- and manage call settings, such as turning the notifications on or off and specifying how long caller ID information remains on the TV screen.
"Our investment in an all-fiber optic network represents our commitment to providing an unparalleled user experience for our customers," said Kevin Stelmach, vice president at Cinergy MetroNet. "Integra5's Converged Services Platform allows us to consistently deliver on this commitment through advanced, value-added services that our subscribers can personalize and control -- starting with Caller ID on TV today and offering the flexibility to meet our subscribers' changing communications preferences with the addition of other new real-time communications services across TVs, PCs, and landline and mobile phones."
Proven to boost subscriber retention and loyalty, the i5 CSP -- chosen by more than 30 cable and IPTV operators worldwide -- combines communications from voice, video, data and wireless networks into real-time converged applications that span TVs, PCs and mobile and landline phones. Its network-based, distributed architecture scales to support millions of subscribers; works in cable, IPTV, and hybrid video and telephony networks; and supports IMS, tru2way and EBIF environments. Providing a strategic foundation for continuous converged service delivery, the i5 CSP allows operators to launch new applications across multiple devices in a matter of weeks, versus the months or years it can often take to develop proprietary, standalone applications in-house.
"Converged applications are proven to increase both ARPU and the relevance of core service offerings, presenting a compelling alternative to bundle price slashing," said Ed Perry, vice president of Sales at Integra5. "Once the i5 CSP is deployed in the network, service providers like Cinergy MetroNet are able to maintain a competitive edge, quickly and easily rolling out a range of new converged communications services that reach all user devices -- with no need to install new in-home equipment or software -- and layering on sticky subscriber features, such as social media and personalization capabilities."
