PORTLAND, Ore., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ:RENT) announced today that it has hired Kristie Fortner as vice president, Syndication and Gordon Jones as director, Business Development of Rentrak's Essentials(R) suite of business intelligence products. Fortner is responsible for leveraging Rentrak's breadth and depth of media usage data across multiple platforms through published reports that provide additional insight for Rentrak clients and other parties interested in overall industry trends. Jones' role is to drive future business growth for Rentrak through his industry experience in video on demand (VOD), broadband and linear platforms.

Fortner brings a wealth of marketing and research experience having worked for such notable companies as Paramount Pictures and Ripe Digital Entertainment. During her six year tenure at Paramount Pictures, Fortner focused on program research as well as implemented key marketing strategies for the on demand space. While at Ripe Digital Entertainment, Fortner managed On Demand, Broadband and Mobile marketing initiatives for three networks, RipeTV, OctaneTV and recently launched FlowTV. Fortner reports to Sandra Kilbridge, vice president, Operations.

Jones most recently served as vice president of affiliate sales and business development for Expo Communications where he led the group's on demand and broadband distribution efforts with such companies as AOL, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Yahoo!. Prior to Expo Communications, Jones worked for such leading entertainment and information companies as Bloomberg and HBO. Jones is based on the east coast and reports to Carol Hinnant, vice president of Business Development for the OnDemand Essentials Suite of Services who manages Rentrak's industry-leading measurement service products including OnDemand Essentials, AdEssentials and the company's market introduction of TVEssentials.
