Live Nation's Point Theater in Dublin to Be Renamed The O2
LOS ANGELES, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Live Nation (NYSE:LYV) today announced that the Point Theatre in Dublin's Docklands district has been renamed "The O2" as part of a recently formed strategic brand alliance with Telefonica O2 Ireland, a leading supplier of mobile services. The O2, which represents Ireland's first major naming rights deal, is expected to re-open its doors to the public in December 2008.

The O2 Dublin is a concert venue development owned by Live Nation, and Irish property developer Harry Crosbie. The O2 Dublin represents the continued expansion of Live Nation's vertically-integrated global platform, based on the company's 150 owned, operated or managed venues worldwide. Newly renovated, the O2 boasts an amphitheatre design and state-of-the-art acoustics that ensure a premium live experience, including clear sightlines and proximity to the stage for everyone in the audience. With its tiered seating, the 13,000-seat venue provides an intimate environment, where each seat feels close to the stage. The venue is expected to host as many as 150 events annually.
