American Greetings and MGM Consumer Products Announce Partnership to Bring Classic Film Icons to New Products

CLEVELAND, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Greetings Corporation (NYSE:AM) and MGM Consumer Products (MGM) today announced an agreement giving the greeting card manufacturer access to the studio's extensive film catalogue for use in new social expression products. Characters and scenes from the long history of MGM films will be integrated into American Greetings products beginning September 2008.

From classics like Rocky, The Pink Panther and Dances with Wolves, to more current fare like Legally Blonde, MGM has been home to some of the most memorable characters and screen moments in film history.

"MGM's diverse collection of great films gives American Greetings the opportunity to translate some of the most memorable moments in motion picture history into social expression products such as greeting cards, gift bags, ornaments and calendars," said Mike Brown, vice president of licensing at American Greetings. MGM's diverse and extensive contemporary film and television library is the world's largest, and is comprised of more than 4,100 titles.
