Latest production features live debut of fairies from Walt Disney Pictures Tinker Bell and brings Disney/Pixar's Cars to the ice for the first time

VIENNA, Va., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy takes flight this fall as Feld Entertainment's newest ice spectacular, featuring four fun-filled classic and current Disney stories. Set to launch on a 70 city, two-year tour in August 2008, Worlds of Fantasy showcases beloved characters from Disney/Pixar's Cars, Disney's The Lion King and The Little Mermaid, as well as a live debut of the magical cast of new Fairies from the highly anticipated October 28th DVD and Blu-ray(TM) release of Walt Disney Pictures Tinker Bell.

In a captivating "fairy tale" segment, audiences will enter into the wondrous world of Pixie Hollow and meet the Disney Fairies from Tinker Bell. The entire ice floor will transform into springtime, as the fairies' magical role in the mysteries of nature is finally revealed. For the tour's first nine cities, Worlds of Fantasy performs before the movie releases in the U.S., serving as a sneak preview of the enchantment to come.

"Audiences will get to meet the fairies live for the first time ever as we open the door to this mystical fairy world deep in the heart of Never Land and unveil the secrets that lie within."

In another first time reveal, life-size Disney/Pixar's Cars characters -- Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater and the crew -- take their high-octane personalities to the ice. Featuring state-of-the-art, custom animatronics, their eyes and mouths move with every twist and turn on the frozen highway. Mater has amusing antics in store as the Cars characters convoy to rock the ice with jumps, spins and freewheeling fun.

"Audiences will be blown away in Radiator Springs when they encounter the unforgettable crew of animated cars, this time built to scale and live on ice. A bonus experience, complimentary with ticket purchase, the Disney Princess Pre-Show will tour nationally for the first time in Feld Entertainment history. Prior to each Worlds of Fantasy performance, families will be treated to an exclusive collection of enchanting ball gowns and mementos from the Disney Princess stories. The exhibit features beautiful settings for photo opportunities.

To produce Worlds of Fantasy, the Feld father-daughter duo called upon the talents of a creative team consisting of:

-- Jay Smith (Director) -- Directed numerous Walt Disney World shows, parades and events, including the opening of Disneyland Hong Kong; developed entertainment for Disneyland Paris; serves as director of show development for Feld Entertainment

-- Jerry Bilik (Writer/Adapter) -- Involved in the development of every Disney On Ice show to date; arranged music for a number of television series, including "Starsky and Hutch" and "Charlie's Angels"; serves as Vice President of Creative Development for Feld Entertainment

-- Sarah Kawahara (Choreographer) -- Two-time Emmy(R) Award-winning choreographer and Disney On Ice veteran who has worked with skating legends Scott Hamilton, Peggy Fleming, Dorothy Hamill and Michele Kwan; directed the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT;

-- Cynthia Nordstrom (Costume Designer) -- Designed more than fourteen shows for Walt Disney World including Tarzan Rocks!; recently contributed to Off-Broadway's Silent Laughter and a new show at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel; Walt

-- Peter Morse (Lighting Designer) -- Disney On Ice veteran who has worked with such talent as Madonna, Prince, Shania Twain, Destiny's Child and the Backstreet Boys; won an Emmy(R) Award for his work on Bette Midler's HBO Special, Diva, Las Vegas

-- Jeremy Railton (Set Designer) -- The recipient of four Emmy(R) Awards for designing "The 57th Academy Awards," art directing "Pee Wee's Playhouse," designing the costume characters for "Zoobilee Zoo," and most recently for designing the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, UT. Railton just served as production designer for Cher's 2008 Las Vegas Spectacular at Caesar's Palace.
