ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Hilarious Chicago natives Deon Cole and Rodney Perry will perform in the Starz original stand-up comedy series "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up" on Wednesday, July 16 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Cole was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., and is not only a successful comedian, but an outstanding actor as well. His television credits include appearances on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam" and on MTV's "Nick Cannon Presents: Wild N' Out" and "Nick Cannon Presents Short Circuitz," Comedy Central's "LAFFAPALOOZA" and NBC's "Showtime at the Apollo." Cole has also appeared in the movies Barbershop and Barbershop 2. He has been part of several tours such as the "Mary J. Blige Tour," the "Def Jam Tour" and the "BET Comedy Tour." Cole was the winner of the BET's Robin Harris Award for most original comic and has also been a finalist on NBC's "Stand-Up for Diversity" showcase.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Perry has appeared in multiple comedy shows including HBO's "Def Comedy Jam," the television series "Comic View," Showtime's "LAFFAPALOOZA" and co-hosted Bill Bellamy's "Who Got Jokes" on TV One. Serving in the U.S. Navy for eight years prior to his extensive career in comedy, Perry's movie credits include Johnson Family Vacation, Legacy and Showstoppers. In 2002, Perry was champion of the McDonald's Bay Area Black Comedy Competition and Festival and was awarded Comedian of the Year Honors as the Competition's winner.

"Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up" is executive produced by one of America's most popular actor/comedians, Martin Lawrence.
