Birmingham's o2 Ideas Wins Three National Telly Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Birmingham-based o2 ideas, Inc., walked away from the 29th Annual Telly Awards with three of the nation's most distinguished advertising honors. The agency received two first place Silver Telly Awards for Captain D's "Stop Motion Fish" TV spot and a Bronze Telly Award for Alabama State University's "Eyes Forward, Looking Back" video. The pieces were selected from among more than 14,000 entries from ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable companies and corporations around the world.

The Captain D's Seafood "Stop Motion Fish" commercial was recognized in two categories -- Use of Animation and Restaurants. The agency utilized a revolutionary mix of animation and a trademark "stop motion" technique by independent film maker David Russo to show an animated fish being painted by a seaside artist as it "swims" through crowds.

Alabama State University's "Eyes Forward, Looking Back" video was recognized in the History and Biography category. The film commemorates the Montgomery Bus Boycott's 50th anniversary and honors the brave souls who took part in the civil rights movement which lead to the Supreme Court declaration that bus segregation was unconstitutional.

"It is a tremendous honor to have our work selected for recognition," said o2 ideas Director of Creative Mark Ervin. "We believe this is a reflection of an ongoing commitment to create fresh and innovative work while maintaining rigorous standards for success."
