FIRES CAUSE DISRUPTION IN ENTERTAINMENT WORLD

The Planet Data Servers, Houston Texas and Universal Studios, Hollywood, California, Sunday June 1st 2008-International Entertainment News
In what is hopefully two separate incidents that involved fires, both businesses were damaged.
The H1 Data center owned by the Planet, based in Houston, which incidentally serves HostConcept, the server that provides both PaulKorda.com and InternationalEntertainmentNews.com, suffered an electrical gear short, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding their electrical equipment room fire at the data center, causing, "about 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers" around the globe to go down, at 4:55CDT on Saturday evening.
Fortunately no-one was injured and no servers were damaged. Fire officials in Houston have warned that re-powering the data center with a back up generator should not be undertaken until safety concerns are met, according to Planet spokesperson Kevin Hazard. Though over 24 hours have elapsed, at this time there is no definite time for the center to be back online or the websites restored, though The Planet is hoping to have news by Monday morning. The Planet staff of technicians are reported to be working round the clock to restore the system, which is one of the World's main data centers.
Universal Studios backlot, as is well reported, suffered major damage to many of it's classic sets and facades. It will undoubtedly set back shows whose locations were primarily based there. Further information on the Houston data center will be forthcoming as news evolves. PaulKorda.com and InternationalEntertainmentNews.com will remain off the air until the problems are resolved by The Planet. Stay tuned.
