Outdoor Channel to Simulcast in High-Definition

Programming to Mirror SD Line-Up, Giving Viewers the Opportunity to View their Favorite Shows in Crisp, Clear HD

TEMECULA, Calif., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel, America's Leader in Outdoor TV, announced today that the network is simulcasting its unique outdoor programming in HD. Now cable, satellite and telco subscribers across the country will have access to Outdoor Channel's best-in-class shows in standard definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) featuring the same programming schedule.

Over 80 percent of Outdoor Channel's original programming is currently shot in HD, including marquee titles like Trout Unlimited on the Rise, Adventures Abroad and Tarpon of Boca. The remaining SD programming will be "down-converted" to the HD format for the simulcast.

Outdoor Channel expects its HD lineup to continue to increase. As part of its commitment to HD, Outdoor Channel holds seminars with its producers to educate them on the latest technologies and techniques.
