New Jersey Comcast Customers Get AnyRoom(TM) On Demand

New Comcast Offering Allows Customers to Start a Video On Demand Show in One Room and Finish it in Another

E. WINDSOR, N.J., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast today announced the launch of AnyRoom(TM) On Demand, available now to all Digital Cable customers in New Jersey with Motorola digital boxes. AnyRoom allows customers to select Channel 1 On Demand programs on one television and view them on any other TV in the home that has a digital cable box. Digital Cable customers with On Demand do not need to make any changes or add equipment to take advantage of the AnyRoom feature, and it is completely free of charge.

"We are delighted to bring this feature to our New Jersey Digital Cable customers," said Greg Arnold, regional senior vice president of Comcast Cable in New Jersey. "We are committed to providing our customers with the ultimate TV viewing experience and the addition of AnyRoom technology is yet another value added feature that allows them to view their favorite programming, whenever and wherever they want to watch."

How AnyRoom Works -- The "Saved Programs" list is shared among all digital cable boxes within a household registered to the same account, allowing On Demand movies or shows to be ordered in one room and then viewed in another. It also allows customers to watch the same program from two or more different digital boxes simultaneously. -- To continue watching or to restart a program in another room, customers can simply go to the "Saved Programs" folder on their On Demand Main Menu (found on the second page of the Main Menu in the Motorola Guides) and select the desired program. It will resume where left off. -- All On Demand programs more than 19 minutes in length are included in the AnyRoom feature. Any free, premium channel or paid programs can be watched during the "rental window" of the program on any TV in the home that has a digital cable box. -- All program titles that are saved on one digital box will be displayed in the "Saved Programs" list on other digital boxes throughout the home. Parents are encouraged to regularly confirm that their Parental Control locks are in place as appropriate on each digital box throughout the home. Information about Parental Control features can be found at http://www.comcast.com/parental_controls or by calling the dedicated parental control hotline at 1-866-781-1888.

New Jersey residents with Scientific Atlanta digital boxes will receive the new service later this year. Roll-out of AnyRoom in other markets across Comcast is expected throughout 2008.

AnyRoom On Demand is one of several features that enable customers to watch programs on their own terms. Earlier this year, Panasonic and Comcast announced the industry's first Portable DVR/DVD player powered by tru2way(TM) technology at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show. The Comcast/Panasonic co- branded AnyPlay(TM) Portable DVR (P-DVR) will allow Comcast customers to record programming at home and take it with them wherever they go. The P-DVR will be available beginning in early 2009.

Comcast's On Demand library offers access to more than 10,000 titles every month and is continually growing; last month Comcast announced it surpassed its 7 billionth On Demand view and 1 billion hours watched since 2003. Comcast customers will have access to more than 1,000 HD choices in 2008, and beginning next year, Comcast plans to offer more than 6,000 movies a month On Demand, with more than 3,000 in HD.
