Fatafeat Presents First Khaleeji Cooking Show With Samar Badri

- 'Samar Bil Khaleeji' is First Programme to Feature Traditional Khaleeji and Persian Cuisine

Fatafeat, the first 24-hour food channel in the Middle East, has launched a new slate of programming, including flagship show 'Samar Bil Khaleeji,' in which young Emirati Samar Badri prepares traditional Khaleeji and Persian dishes.

Mr. Youssef El Deeb, Chairman and Managing Director of Takhayal Entertainment, Fatafeat's parent company, said: "Samar's previous programme, 'Samar 5 Stars,' introduced us to various cuisines and viewers responded to her friendly, simple approach. With 'Samar Bil Khaleeji,' Fatafeat is breaking ground, showing ways to recreate the flavors of the UAE's past for today's cooks."

Born to a UAE national father and an Iranian mother, Samar Badri has been a gourmand her entire life. She said: "I spent most of my childhood in my mother's kitchen, where my love of food first started. I'm so pleased to pass on these traditional recipes in the hopes that other families will enjoy the wonderful tastes that we did."

Other new shows that explore the pleasures of Middle Eastern cuisines include 'Gedid fi Gedid,' where Chef Andrew embarks on a journey of fusion between East and West. In 'Shourba wi Naknaka,' Andrew and Darine create mouthwatering new snacks, while 'Byriani' focuses on Indian cuisine. In 'Everyday Italian with Giada,' the channel's first Arabized show, Chef Giada De Laurentiis shares the homey recipes of her Italian family. 'Abbasiyat' shows the popular Abbas on a journey around Egypt's restaurants, visiting upscale and local eateries alike.

Fatafeat's international programmes are also promising: in 'Mario Eats Italy,' Chef Mario shares his passion for Italian artisanal food traditions. Nutritionist and author Ellie Krieger creates simple, healthy recipes in 'Healthy Appetite,' showing how easy it can be to stay healthy. Amy Finley, 'The Gourmet Next Door,' shows timesaving tips and tricks for simple gourmet cooking. Likewise, in 'Sara's Secret,' Executive Chef Sara Moulton shares terrific techniques to fit a busy lifestyle. Finish off an evening's viewing with 'Passion for Desserts,' where Pastry Chef Jacques Torres teams up with the world's finest artisanal pastry and candy makers.
