Celebrity Cancer Advocates to be Honored at Washington, D.C. Benefit

 WASHINGTON, April 29 /PRNewswire/ --    What:   Rays of Hope(R) Awards Gala, a dinner awards benefit hosted by the           National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS), celebrating           cancer survivorship. At this year's annual event NCCS will           recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant           contributions to cancer survivorship, including:            -- The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) -- The Lilly              Tartikoff Hope Award will be presented by star of the NBC show              Law & Order SVU Mariska Hargitay to Lisa Paulsen, president              and chief executive officer of the EIF            -- The Boston Red Sox Organization will receive the Private Sector              Leadership Award for its extensive support of The Jimmy Fund,              which helps find cures and improve the lives of children and              families facing cancer            -- Bob Schieffer, anchor of the CBS program Face the Nation with              Bob Schieffer and bladder cancer survivor, will receive the              Excellence in Media Award            -- Mike Burg of Edge Marketing and Management, a Hodgkin's disease              survivor and producer of cause-related entertainment programs,              will receive the Special Recognition Award            Dan Abrams, host of MSNBC's "Verdict with Dan Abrams" and chief           legal correspondent for NBC News, as well as a cancer survivor,           will serve as master of ceremonies.
