Veteran Television Executive and Producer Duncan Campbell Named Vice President, Business Development for ICTV

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- ICTV(R), which provides ActiveVideo(TM) solutions that infuse TV with the best features of the Web, announced today that veteran television producer and business development executive Duncan Campbell has been named Vice President, Business Development.

Campbell, whose career has included positions with major cable networks and leading interactive media companies, most recently had been general manager and head of United States operations for Two Way TV, Inc. With ICTV, he is responsible for developing relationships with broadcast, cable and new media programmers for the creation and deployment of new programming channels on the ICTV ActiveVideo Distribution Network.

ActiveVideo allows programmers and cable and IPTV operators for the first time to immerse viewers in an engaging experience that combines Web video, Web 2.0 functionality and traditional television. With ActiveVideo, viewers can navigate a completely interactive environment of both linear and broadband programming including rich interfaces and graphics optimized for TV and remote control navigation; social networking; personal media; niche content; and targeted, actionable advertising.

"Maintaining brand loyalty amidst an increasingly large array of Web content options has become a significant challenge for programmers," said Michael Taylor, senior vice president of business development for ICTV. "Duncan Campbell's background in production, advertising and the development of new opportunities for content providers uniquely enables him to discuss at a variety of corporate levels how ActiveVideo can keep viewers' attention on the television."

"One of the great challenges for programmers today is how to give television viewers the same levels of interactivity and personalization that they find on the Web," said Campbell. "The fundamental simplicity of ActiveVideo -- Web-based content creation and remote control navigation -- enables the rapid development of programming in an environment that encourages viewer interaction."

Prior to his tenure with Two Way TV, Campbell served for one year as a consultant to GSN - The Network for Games, and spent six years in two senior executive positions with GoldPocket Interactive. Campbell was vice president, business development, programming and content production from 2000-04, and served as senior vice president business development and advertising for the company's OneMedia, Inc. division until GoldPocket's acquisition by Tandberg TV/Ericsson in 2006.

An Award for Cable Excellence (ACE) winning producer, Campbell worked in production capacities with a variety of networks, including CNN, Fox News Channel, Home and Garden Television and others, from 1986-99. Campbell was a producer for "Larry King Live" from 1989-1992, a senior producer for Fox News and served as executive producer and show creator for HGTV from 1998-2000.

Campbell holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from Duke University.

ActiveVideo allows viewers to navigate and view Web media using existing remote controls. Like the Web, ActiveVideo can support the targeted, interactive banner advertisements and valuable ad showcases that are driving online advertising revenues to very high growth rates. ActiveVideo P:Mosaic -- the multichannel industry's first customizable, personalized video-rich navigation system -- provides easy-to-use navigation, allowing subscribers to navigate through a number of channels at a single glance.
