'Wheel Of Fortune' and QVC Team Up for QVC Shopping Spree! Week
CULVER CITY, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Viewers tuning in to Wheel of Fortune the week of March 17-21 will find that the best way to spell "Shopping Spree" is QVC. Wheel of Fortune, America's #1 syndicated series, has teamed up with the leading multimedia retailer for QVC Shopping Spree! Week.
This alliance marks an exciting milestone in Wheel of Fortune's 25-year history. For the first time, Wheel of Fortune, in collaboration with QVC, is "bonusing-up" its bonus round with a "+Q prize." If the contestant solves the bonus puzzle, he/she wins the bonus prize and the all-new +Q prize, which is every item that airs on QVC the day of the contestant's birthday - with a value up to $10,000, including the best products in beauty, home, fashion, jewelry and electronics.
Additionally, each night during QVC Shopping Spree! Week, there will be a special QVC wedge added to the wheel. The lucky contestant who lands on the wedge and solves the puzzle during the same round will win a fabulous $5,000 QVC shopping spree.
"We jumped at the chance to work with QVC. We know that many of our viewers shop on QVC and this gives us a unique opportunity where two brands have come together to reach their fan base," said Wheel of Fortune Executive Producer Harry Friedman.
"We are excited to join forces with the world's most successful syndicated program in the history of television, Wheel of Fortune," said QVC Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Charney. "From both an on-air and online perspective, the combined audience reach of these two established brands is enormously powerful."
The week-long partnership will feature shopping-themed puzzles and QVC footage highlighting the exciting products it offers. Moreover, there will also be pre-recorded spots by QVC personalities and celebrity vendors, including Marie Osmond, Carson Kressley, Finola Hughes and Joan Rivers. Wheel of Fortune and QVC viewers can also join in the fun from home by visiting Wheel of Fortune's Web site (www.wheeloffortune.com) to play the game online and read audience and contestant blogs.
Wheel of Fortune is produced by Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, and is distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Paramount International Television.
