Celebrations for the Holiday Make Vegas the Place to be Right Now
LAS VEGAS, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Patrick's Day is around the corner, and there's no better place to enjoy the festivities than in Las Vegas. Home to more than 15 Irish Pubs, and with more luck and leprechauns than ever before, the always celebratory destination will celebrate this holiday in true Irish fashion.
Start the celebration early with J.C. Wooloughans Irish Pub inside J.W. Marriott. Three days of festivities begin on Saturday, March 15 with the "Happy Hour of the Year" and live music. The live music continues through the holiday weekend, along with an Irish brunch on Sunday and three separate but equally Irish parties on Monday.
Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York kicks off its St. Patrick's Day celebrations with Celtic Feis 2008, featuring great entertainment and Irish fare. Live entertainment includes Mike Bowman, Irish Kevin and Ri Ra. Rocking the Brooklyn Bridge will be the Celtic Rockers and U2 cover band, Elevation. The festivities continue all weekend long and end with the 5th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Monday, March 17, which starts at 10:50 a.m. outside of Coyote Ugly.
Quinn's at Green Valley Ranch is celebrating with a Beer Pong Tournament and great prizes. With a ten dollar entry, party-goers can join in on the fun and a chance to win a flat screen television, a Wii or an iPod. There is also a raffle to win a trip to Ireland. To enter, grab a drink at Quinn's any night prior to St. Patrick's Day. Also at Green Valley Ranch, Darby O'Gill and the Limey Bar Stewards will perform inside Ovation Lounge.
The newest Irish pub in Vegas, McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon located inside Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, offers traditional Irish fare and "Great American Pub Food." The 7,000 square-foot plus tavern boasts two rooms and over 20 high-definition plasma televisions. Celebrate on the dance floor or dance on the 100-foot mahogany bar.
Join the block party on the Las Vegas Strip, hosted by O'Sheas. On the street between O'Sheas and Flamingo, there will be drink specials, live music, games, giveaways and green beer. On Saturday March 15, the party runs from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. On Monday March 17, celebrate inside starting at 11 a.m. with a beer pong tournament and live music beginning at 5 p.m. Daring revelers can receive green clover tattoos at Vince Neil Ink from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. for just $50. This special price is limited to the first 20 clients.
With true Irish flare, The Hotel on Mt. Charleston will be serving Corned Beef and Cabbage. St. Patrick's Day cannot be celebrated without tasty green drinks, which is why there will be drink specials all day. Try a Green Beer, Midori Sour or an Apple Martini for three dollars or Scooby Snack and Green Apple Jolly Rancher shots for just two dollars.
