Companies and individuals are joining together to switch off their lights at 8 p.m. local time on March 29 for one hour - making a bold statement against climate change. Cox Enterprises is participating in about 30 cities and has provided more than $200,000 of in-kind media support in the form of Public Service Announcements (PSAs), print and online promotions, and guest appearances on local television programming. Each participating location is also encouraging its employees to join the action at home.
"Our employees have responded enthusiastically to Earth Hour," said Jim Kennedy, chairman and CEO of Cox Enterprises. "Across the company, our employees are turning off the lights at work and home. It's the little steps we take to conserve energy that together can add up to a big difference."
