TV Azteca and Telemundo Reach Accord to Settle Outstanding Lawsuits

MEXICO CITY, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint release, TV Azteca, S.A. de C.V. and Telemundo Network Group LLC, announced today that they have reached an accord to settle multiple pending litigations.

"Intellectual property is the cornerstone of the television business in any part of the world, and we see this agreement as a step forward in the development of Spanish-language television in the United States and Mexico," said Mario San Roman, CEO of TV Azteca.

In the event that a dispute does arise, both sides have pledged to attempt to resolve issues privately before filing any formal legal action.

Under the agreement, neither party admits any liability for asserted claims in prior litigation and both parties acknowledge each other's contractual rights.
