Nissan LIVE Sets on Yahoo! Music Celebrates One Year Anniversary With Star- Studded LA Party

Paris Hilton, David Spade, Emily VanCamp and Dave Annable Joined the Celebration as Nissan unveiled the new GT-R

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nissan North America (NNA) and Yahoo! Music last night celebrated the One Year Anniversary of Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music with an exclusive red-carpet event, showcasing the eagerly anticipated Nissan GT-R. Milo Ventimiglia star of the hit NBC show "Heroes" hosted the party at Fox Studios, Los Angeles featuring DJ Samantha Ronson on turntables and a special live performance by Matchbox Twenty.

Hollywood celebrities Paris Hilton, Dave Annable and Emily VanCamp (from Emmy Award winning "Brothers & Sisters"), David Spade, Dominique Swain ("Alpha Dog"), David Blue ("Ugly Betty"), Madeline Zima ("Californication") and Carly Pope ("24") came out to join the celebrations and check out the Nissan GT-R. Nissan's newest sports car made a special cameo at the party in support of its North American debut at the recent Los Angeles Auto Show. Legendary rock n' roll photographer Jim Marshall was enlisted by Nissan to capture behind-the- scenes photos of the GT-R and his collection of prints adorned the walls of the event.

Party guests such as Joe Reitman also took their own photographs at the personal photo booth. The party culminated when host Milo Ventimiglia introduced Matchbox Twenty who capped off the night by performing songs from their latest album "Exile on Mainstream." At the concert, celebrities like Paris Hilton danced to the music, Dominique Swain used the all-new Nissan GT-R as a prop while she hammed it up for the camera and two "heroes" (Milo Ventimiglia from "Heroes" and David Annable, a war veteran on "Brothers & Sisters") mingled with star Emily VanCamp.

Nissan's exclusive partnerships with Yahoo! Music and Jim Marshall demonstrate Nissan's forward-thinking commitment to engage a variety of influencers.

"Wherever the Nissan GT-R goes, crowds follow, so it's only natural that the GT-R would be here for the celebration of Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music," says Nissan marketing vice president Ben Poore. "Being able to showcase the Nissan GT-R at this exciting anniversary celebration gives us the chance to connect with consumers who are as passionate about music as Nissan is about building cars."

About the 2009 Nissan GT-R

The GT-R is a multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of "an ultimate supercar" for "anyone, anytime, anywhere." This "everyday supercar" was developed to the highest standards and uses an all-new Premium Midship package, which enables the use of the world's first production application of an independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system. Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R features an all-new 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 producing an estimated 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The engine is backed by an all-new, paddle-shifted GR6 sequential 6-speed dual clutch rear transaxle, with a Borg Warner six-plate dual clutch. The transaxle's layout places the transmission, transfer case and final drive at the rear of the vehicle, which enables vehicle weight to be evenly distributed throughout the car. The GT-R will be available for sale for the first time ever in the United States beginning in June 2008.
