WGBH Executive Producer Joseph Tovares Honored by The Imagen Foundation

BOSTON, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Imagen Foundation recognizes "The Entertainment Industry's Most Powerful & Influential Latinos," including WGBH executive producer Joseph Tovares, at the award's inaugural luncheon on Wednesday, October 15, 2007, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Tovares is the executive producer of La Plaza, the Emmy award-winning Latino production unit at WGBH Boston, where he oversees a variety of broadcast and interactive projects.

La Plaza produces Maria Hinojosa: One-on-One, which features award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa in conversation with America's foremost Latino artists, writers, activists and civic leaders. Maria Hinojosa: One-on-One airs nationally on public television stations across the United States (distributed via American Public Television.) The programs are available as video streams on http://www.wgbh.org/oneonone . The series Web site also offers selected clips as podcasts. The series kicks off its second season in January 2008.

La Plaza also produces the Spanish language series, Conversaciones con Maria Hinojosa as well as Blog La Plaza, a Latino video blog at http://www.thecolorline.org/ .
