Retirement Living TV a Top Place to Work in Cable

CableWorld magazine has announced that Retirement Living TV is one of the ten top places to work in the industry

COLUMBIA, Md., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Retirement Living TV (RLTV), the first network dedicated to people 55+, has been named one of the ten best places to work in the cable industry by CableWorld magazine. Winners are selected based on criteria that include competitive pay and health benefits, work environment, maternity leave, flexible working hours, career training and tuition reimbursement, diversity in managerial class and retirement plan contribution.

Every company selected was announced and profiled in the October 15 -- November 11 issue of CableWorld. "We've come a long way in the short year that we've been on the air. One of the things that we are most proud of is our robust employee recognition initiative," said Lorri Levie, Director of Human Resources. "Retirement Living TV has developed a brand for the way we do business and our employees live and breathe it everyday."

RLTV currently employs over 200 professionals in areas from production to research. Though RLTV's home office is located in Columbia, Maryland, employees also work out of the Reuters' studios in DC and New York, Hollywood Center Studios in Los Angeles, and in a studio on the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus.

"Another area in which we stand out is our monthly staff meetings, fondly referred to as Bradapalooza and named after our president, Brad Knight," said Levie. Each meeting is a combination of pep rally and information sharing, where employees are encouraged to give input and ideas and receive energetic reports and updates from network departments.

RLTV also offers a "door less" work environment. Every office is open spaced, including the president's. It's a work setting that embraces conveniences down to laptops and a free on-site gym.
