New Digital Media Platform Offers Stations Groundbreaking Opportunity to Offer Broadband Version with Territorial Exclusivity
NEW YORK, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- TitanTV Network, the first of its kind digital media platform designed to connect local media affiliates and their advertisers to the digital world, has acquired the exclusive broadband rights to Radar Entertainment's new daily syndicated strip series, Jury Duty, it was announced today by Jack Perry, Founder and CEO of Titan TV Media and Vincent Dymon, CEO of Radar Entertainment and Creator & Executive Producer of Jury Duty. The series, featuring famed defense attorney Bruce Cutler and premiering on stations around the country on September 17, will be given free to its affiliate stations' Web sites delivered through the TitanCast player, which provides territorial exclusivity through its patented technology. The broadband version of the series will also be available on TitanTV.com.
The TitanTV Network provides the programming, management support and distribution system to help stations maximize their content offerings and revenue generating opportunities as they diversify into a multiplatform provider. At no cost to them, stations that join the network can enhance their viewers' digital experience with a station-branded TitanCast player designed to manage content, host and stream original programming, transcode, and provide access to out of market content with geo-appropriate advertising, among other services.
"The proprietary technology of The TitanTV Network makes it possible for only those viewers within a stations' exclusive copyright area to access their content," comments Perry. "Our ability to replicate our nation's airwaves for broadcast over-the-Web provides a new way for viewers to watch and upload their favorite syndicated series, anytime and whenever they want it, and will generate a whole new revenue stream for the local stations."
Stations are free to sell advertising for their local broadband version of Jury Duty, with a three-way split between the station, TitanTV and Radar Entertainment. TitanTV provides all of the infrastructure so even the stations with the most limited budgets can carry Jury Duty online.
"Viewers are demanding more flexibility from programmers in the way they deliver video entertainment and we want to keep pace with that," says Dymon. "We are delighted that the TitanTV Network's advanced technology and delivery system allows us to offer a broadband alternative for viewers who may have missed an episode of Jury Duty, as well as a way for us to generate additional ad revenue from the digital space."
Jury Duty, which is presided over by high-profile attorney Bruce Cutler, features a jury of rotating celebrities including Phyllis Diller, Ed Begley Jr., Bruce Vilanch, Paula Poundstone, Kevin Sorbo, Scott Hamilton, Dick Van Patten and Tiffany, among others.
