Farm Aid 2007: A HOMEGROWN Festival will take place on Randalls Island on Sunday, September 9. This year's event will feature two music stages, family farm food vendors and interactive exhibits. Joining festival co-founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp are Dave Matthews, The Allman Brothers, Counting Crows and many more.
From September 4 through September 10, Farm Aid will partner with several New York City restaurants for the "Fresh from the Family Farm" promotion. Local favorites, including Tavern on the Green, Centrico and Gramercy Tavern, will feature at least one menu item that uses locally-grown foods produced by family farms, some of which is also certified organic. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Farm Aid.
Prior to the Sunday concert, Farm Aid will hold the Farm Aid Homegrown Fair in Union Square on Saturday, September 8. Visitors can enjoy free music and delicious farm food starting at 10am at the South Plaza in Union Square.
