Democratic Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich Guest Hosts Global Broadcast of College Student Debate Monday Morning
MIAMI, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, who has stood behind a spotlighted podium at more than a dozen Democratic Presidential debates and forums this year, gets to move out of "the hot seat" tomorrow (Monday) morning when he guest hosts a first-ever live political debate between college students that will be beamed to more than 4,500 colleges and universities in the U.S. and around the world.
The high-tech event pitting college Democrats against college Republicans is being produced by the Open Student Television Network, the only 24-hour global channel devoted exclusively to student programming. The national student audience will be able to chat with the moderator (on-screen), vote by cell phone, and even pop in by web cam. It is the first in a 10-part series titled "We the Students" planned over the next several months.
Kucinich will open the debate, help moderate and facilitate the discussion, likely take a few questions himself, and then make a closing statement.
The inaugural program will be televised from the University of Miami, School of Communications, 5100 Brunson Drive, Coral Gables, FL, beginning at 10 a.m. Participants will be from the University of Miami and Florida International University. Kucinich, OSTN representatives, and debate participants will begin a walk-through and talk-through of the event beginning at about 9 a.m.
(The entire event is open to the news media.)
