The tour, entitled "Operation Feel the Heat," is the first USO tour for Riggle, Sanz, Huebel and Scheer. The comedians, all members of the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy group, will join forces and bring comic relief to service members stationed overseas.
"Being a member of the U.S. military myself, makes this USO tour to the Persian Gulf all the more special to me," says Riggle. "I've been there -- deployed a million miles away from the U.S. and stationed far from my family - - it's hard and anything I can do, I'll do it."
A Major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Riggle served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, and received more than 19 medals and ribbons, including the Combat Action Ribbon. Debuting on "Saturday Night Live" in 2004, Riggle is now a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." He has also guest starred in such television shows as "The Office" and "Arrested Development."
Born in Chile and raised in Chicago, Sanz joined "Saturday Night Live" in 1998 and became the first Latino cast member. During his stint, he delivered memorable impressions of celebrities like Elton John and Rosie O'Donnell. A seasoned talent, Sanz has co-starred in such movies as "Tom Cats" and "Road Trip."
Nominated for an Emmy Award for his work as producer on Michael Moore's "The Awful Truth," Huebel is one of the creators and stars of MTV's sketch comedy show, "Human Giant," and a regular on VH1's "Best Week Ever." He has also appeared on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Arrested Development."
Named one of the "Top 10 Comics to Watch" by Variety magazine, Scheer is a frequent commentator on "The Today Show" and is among those that created and star in MTV's "Human Giant." A New York native and panelist on VH1's "Best Week Ever," Sheer has made numerous appearances on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
