CHICAGO, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- WHAT: Guitar Center is thrilled to bring the legendary Eric Clapton "Blackie," "Gibson 335," and Stevie Ray Vaughan "Lenny" guitars to Chicago. For only the second time since Guitar Center purchased them in 2004 for over $2.4M from the Clapton Crossroads Centre auction at Christies New York, these three iconic guitars will be on display for all music fans to enjoy. The guitars will be exhibited in newly created "Legend's Collection" display cases that will provide a high level of protection and feature performance footage celebrating each guitars glorious history. Following the display at Guitar Center Chicago the guitars will make their way to Toyota Park where they will be displayed in The Village at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival for all guitar fans to view on Saturday, July 28th. The instruments will go on to tour prestigious musical events and Guitar Center store openings in the years to come.
