The Camp Lasts 4 Weeks - The Lessons Last a Lifetime!
BOSTON, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Greater Media, Inc. announces Boston Mayor Tom Menino, Actors Brian Denehey and Jay Thomas, Comedian Steve Sweeney, Donna Summer, Boston Bruins Great Cam Neely and former "New Kids On The Block" star Joey McIntyre will be among the many local and national celebrities participating in Greater Media Boston's first annual on-air radiothon to raise funds to benefit the newly constructed Camp Harbor View.
The day long on-air and on-line fundraising effort will take place on Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 6am - 7pm. It will be broadcast live on all five Greater Media Radio stations, (WTKK-FM, WKLB-FM, WROR-FM, WMJX-FM and WBOS- FM), located at 55 Morrissey Boulevard in Boston.
The project is an exciting new partnership between the City of Boston, Camp Harbor View Foundation, Inc. and Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. The program's mission is to provide a safe, dynamic and challenging summer camp experience for Boston youth between the ages of 11-14.
"Camp Harbor View is the result of great work by an extraordinary group of people who want to help a bunch of kids have a great summer," said Jack Connors. "Over the course of the next eight weeks, we hope to bring them joy, inspire them to dream, give them confidence - and perhaps even change a life or two."
Anyone who would like to donate will have the opportunity to make pledges via phone at 866-325-GIVE (4483) and on-line at http://www.campharborviewboston.com/ . In addition, listeners will have the opportunity to participate in a special on-line auction.
