Inaugural SCENE FIRST International Film Festival to Bring Together Film Industry Leaders and Film Aficionados June 14-16, 2007 in Wilmington, N.C.
COLUMBIA, S.C., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Film aficionados and casual movie- goers of all ages will want to be in Wilmington, N.C. June 14-16, 2007 for the inaugural SCENE FIRST International Film Festival. The weekend will bring together first-time filmmakers, movie fanatics of all ages and film industry leaders for three days of film screenings, studio tours and educational programming.
"With more than 200 submissions from across the globe, there is something for everyone at the SCENE FIRST international film festival," said Sam Connelly, executive director of SCENE FIRST. "All festival attendees will have the opportunity to view some of the best creative talent in the film industry and witness the beginnings of those creators who could become the next great generation of filmmakers."
Tickets are now available online as a three day pass or on a day-by-day basis. In addition, festival attendees can purchase tickets for specific films or genres. An all-access pass is available for $70 per person and gives the attendee access to all festival events including workshops, screenings and special events. A screening-only pass is available for $30 per person and provides attendees with access to all film screenings. For each individual film, festival attendees can pay $7 per film. All festival attendees will have the opportunity to view original films created by student filmmakers in the following categories:
-Narrative -Documentary -Animation -Experimental -International -Comedy -Music Video -Horror -PSA/Commercial -Eight and 16 mm -Action Sports -Cellphone Shorts
In addition, a free film screening of One Winter Story will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 7:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. One Winter Story is an unprecedented cinematic glimpse into the adrenaline-pumped, male-dominated world of big-wave surfing, but from the unusual and seldom seen perspective: a woman's.
Industry leaders, including movie director Gary Winick of "Charlotte's Web" and "13 going on 30" as well as executive producer Alan Blumquist of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" and "Walk the Line," will be attending the festival. These film greats and others will offer insight into the film
industry today and offer filmmaker hopefuls hands-on advice and learning opportunities.
