Disney Channel Expands Its Audience Reach in Vietnam

Carriage on Vietnam's Largest Pay-TV Systems Extends Disney Channel's Pay-TV

Penetration to 75%

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam and SINGAPORE, June 27 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Disney Channel has increased its reach in Vietnam and is now available in 75% of all pay-TV households with its carriage on the country's largest pay-TV systems, Vietnam Cable Television Service Technique Center (VCTV) and Saigon Tourist Cable Television Company (SCTV).

Disney Channel is a 24-hour kid-driven, family inclusive channel that offers an array of animated and live-action series such as "Hannah Montana," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "Kim Possible." It also features Disney Channel Original Movies like the blockbuster "High School Musical" and classic Disney movies. Disney Channel is the most watched pay-TV kids channel across the Asia Pacific and ranks first among kids viewers in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Vietnam is one of 18 markets in the Asia Pacific that broadcasts Disney Channel.

The Walt Disney Company entered the Vietnam market with the launch of Disney Channel in May 2005. In the two years since its launch, Disney Channel has increased its Vietnamese subtitling from 10% to 70% of its programming. Disney Channel is distributed by Q.Net in Vietnam.

VCTV provides cable service in Hanoi and DTH service nationwide and is an affiliate of Vietnam Television (VTV), the country's terrestrial TV broadcaster.

SCTV is a joint venture between travel chain Saigon Tourist Holding Company and VTV covering Ho Chi Minh City.
