Adding An Awesome Line Up To This Years Festival

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- "Barbados Gospelfest - AWESOME 2007" will be held from May 19th to the 27th , 2007. This festival celebrates the best in international, regional and local gospel talent and has become a major annual Caribbean gospel event. Celebrating fifteen years of exceptional music, dance and fellowship, Gospelfest continues to attract thousands of locals and visitors from the Caribbean, the US and the UK. An exciting lineup of anointed and talented artistes will be featured at the Gospelfest events held at various venues across Barbados. These include Martha Minuzzi, Canton Jones, Isaac Blackman, Samantha Clarke, Stichie and many more international, regional and local guest artistes.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of Gospelfest, and to share in this enriching experience, visitors can take advantage of special packages available from the US, UK and the Caribbean.

Festival Schedule:

Sunday, May 20th (9:30am): Sanctuary New Testament Church of God, MERC Complex Lower River Road, (Former Detco Motors Building)

Event: 15th Anniversary Celebration and Thanksgiving Service featuring Lavonne Jackson-Wright of the USA and Sharon St. Louis of the UK.

Monday, May 21st (7:00pm): St Mary's Anglican Church, Bridgetown

Event: "Hymnspeak," featuring a 60-voice chorale, drawn from various local choirs under the direction of Rev. Mikey Roberts accompanied by organist, John Bryan, and the brass section of the Royal Barbados Police Band The event will also feature dramatizations by Praise Academy of Dance Barbados, Dwain Gill and the Bethel Chimes.

Wednesday, May 23rd (5:30pm): Jackie Opel Amphitheatre, Bridgetown

Event: British American Sunset Concert featuring Sharon St Louis, one of the hottest, new gospel acts from the UK. Local artistes include Ryan Griffith, the Amazing Grace (SDA) Band, Island Impact Outreach Ministry and Yolande Richard.

Thursday, May 24th (8:00pm): Frank Collymore Hall for the Expressions of Gospel

Event: Produced by regionally acclaimed artistic director, Jennifer Sealy, will feature Jesus Army, Pearl-Ann Hinds, Testify, Sisters of Praise, New Creation Ministries, Holy Trinity Church Steel Orchestra and others

Friday, May 25th (8:00pm/9:30pm): George Washington House, Bush Hill Garrison St. Michael/ Club Xtreme

   Event: 15th Anniversary Concert/ Extreme Youth Event    Saturday, May 26th (7:00pm): Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium   Event: Awesome in Worship    Sunday, May 27th (1:00pm): Farley Hill   Event: One Awesome Day - A Family Day Picnic    *There is an entrance fee for some of these events.
