Tempo and American Airlines Join Forces For The Tempo 'Caribbean Rising' Sweepstakes

Winners Go to Nevis, West Indies for Tempo's Main Concert Launch Event

NEW YORK, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Tempo, MTV Network's new cable channel dedicated to all things Caribbean, and American Airlines have teamed up with radio stations around the nation to launch the "Tempo/American Airlines Caribbean Rising Sweepstakes." Over 30 lucky winners from each participating market will experience the culture, richness and beauty of the Caribbean and be a part of history as Tempo celebrates its much anticipated November launch in Nevis, West Indies. The sweepstakes begins on October 14th and will run for one week, concluding on October 21st. All entries must be received by 1pm EST, Friday, October 21st to be eligible.

The Grand Prize winners will receive a trip for two to Nevis that includes: roundtrip airfare provided by American Airlines; ground transportation from the Airport to and from the hotel; two nights accommodations at the Marriott Hotel. During their stay, they will also receive two tickets to the Tempo "Caribbean Rising" concert launch event held at Round Hill Estate in Mt. Nevis on October 30th. Tempo will also provide twenty 4 CD box sets of "The History of Reggae" published and provided by Sanctuary Records, as qualifying prizes. The winner and their guest must be 18 years of age or over, a U.S. resident, and have an original birth certificate and a valid government issued I.D., or a current U.S. Passport.

The winners will be randomly selected and be notified on October 21. The "Tempo/American Airlines Caribbean Rising Sweepstakes" was developed and is being coordinated through Pop2Life, an event marketing and promotions company that specializes in the development and execution of exciting, large-scale promotions -- specifically designed for radio and other mass-media outlets.

The artists scheduled to perform in Nevis on October 30th include: Wyclef Jean, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, Angie Stone, Allison Hinds, Pepper Ranks, Masud Sadiki, Kasanova, King Meeko, Crucial Banks, Luciano, Ivy Queen and Morgan Heritage.

The radio stations participating in the sweepstakes are WVEE (Atlanta), WJLB (Detroit), WPGC (Washington, DC), WLLD (Tampa), WJMN (Boston), WBLS (New York), KSFM (Sacramento) and KMEL (San Francisco).
