Sylvester Stallone Returns in 'Rocky Balboa'

Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as legendary boxing champion Rocky Balboa in the new film "Rocky Balboa." The announcement was made by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Revolution Studios and Columbia Pictures, which will co-produce and co-finance the film. Columbia Pictures will also handle distribution for the film.

Stallone, who received Academy Award nominations for starring in and writing "Rocky," will serve as writer and director of the film. A Chartoff/Winkler production, the film is scheduled to begin shooting early in 2006.

The Conference Board says soaring energy prices and the enormity of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will have a significant impact on the U-S economy, putting upcoming holiday retail sales at risk. But the economic havoc generated by the two deadly hurricanes in and of itself is unlikely to trigger a recession.

The economy will feel like it is moving forward as early as the first quarter of 2006 and this momentum will continue into the spring as massive rebuilding gets underway. Long-term trend growth should be back on track in the second half of 2006.
