MediaBay Teams with Mobile Streams to License Classic Radio Ringtones to Network of Mobile Phone Users Using Alltel and Nextel
CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MediaBay, Inc. (NASDAQ:MBAY), a leading digital media and publishing company specializing in spoken word and premium audio entertainment, today announced that they have entered into a licensing agreement with Mobile Streams, a global mobile music and media specialist, to deliver MediaBay's vast library of classic radio content through Mobile Streams' ringtone distribution channels, including the company's established Web site Ringtones.com and carrier partners including Alltel and Nextel.
The deal showcases MediaBay's continued strategic pursuit of expanding its digital distribution network with its premium spoken word content library. Ringtones initially slated to be available through the deal with Mobile Streams include clips from classic shows such as "The Jack Benny Show," "Dimension X," "Duffy's Tavern," "The Great Gildersleeve," "Gunsmoke," the intro to "The Inner Sanctum," "Lights Out," Superman's "It's a bird, It's a plane," Bob Hope's "Thanks for the Memories," "The Shadow," "Sorry Wrong Number" and Richard Diamond's famous whistle.
