Houston Hip Hop Star Chamillionaire 'Turns It Up' For World Series Bound Astros

New Chamillionaire Single 'Turn It Up' Becomes Radio Anthem For Surging Astros As Team Heads For First World Series In 45 Years

Debut CD The Sound Of Revenge In-Stores November 22nd

NEW YORK, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Recording artist/Houston based rapper Chamillionaire has 'modified' his sizzling single, "Turn It Up," (featuring Lil' Flip) in support of the surging Houston Astros, who are destined for their first World Series appearance in the franchise's 45 year history. The smash song, embraced by both the 'miracle' Astros and music fans across the U.S., originally caught fire in the hip-hop star's native southwest cradle of the Houston/Dallas market, garnering more than 20 million in listening radio audience as it stormed toward the Top 20 even before the enterprising rapper 'upgraded' it for local baseball fans.

The song is pulling in #1 phone requests at Houston radio stations such as KPTY and KRBE, with both sports enthusiasts and hip hop connoisseurs lapping up the inspiring anthem, pegged by rap fans and critics as a straight-up hit even before the Astros-themed lyric changes. The mainstream media has already lauded Chamillionaire's burgeoning breakthrough, with respected tomes such as the Village Voice recently raving: 'Chamillionaire is one of the five or six greatest rappers on planet earth' and Source magazine noting: 'With the help of "Turn It Up," Cham has earned his shot at the crown'.

The continuing success of "Turn It Up" affirms Chamillionaire's status as one of the hip-hop artists to watch in 2005. The freestyle prince, who has long ruled the hip-hop underground, (he sold more than 250,000 mix tapes under the hallowed alias 'Mixtape Messiah,') first gained fame in the dirty south mix-tape game for his cutting edge lyrics and melodic, street-tinged style. The Sound of Revenge boasts a diverse slate of in-demand producers and artists such as, Swizz Beatz, Scott Storch (50 Cent), David Banner, Mannie Fresh, Lil Flip, The Beat Bullies (Big Boi/Outkast), and others. Chamillionaire has already embarked on a successful radio promotion tour, and is playing selected dates on The BET 2005 Black College Tour, which runs through 14 historic black colleges and universities, including a stop in Chamillionaire's native Houston on November 4 - home of the (hopefully) soon-to-be World Champion Houston Astros!
