The Apprentice: Martha Stewart Episode Shot at The Art Institute of New York City

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Two of the nine kitchens at The Art Institute of New York City are featured in the third episode of NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, scheduled to air on Wednesday, October 5th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Student volunteers and pastry chefs had the opportunity to assist in the shoot that took place over the course of a weekend in May. As part of their training in Pastry Arts, students are instructed in the creation and construction of wedding cakes, which was the subject of this episode.

"It was exciting to be a part of this," said Academic Department Director Chef Ken Goodman. "We stayed up all night while the participants were baking their cakes. It got pretty tense for them toward morning."

The Art Institute of New York City is frequently used as a location site for television and films. Culinary students have the benefit of this exposure, often being chosen as volunteers. Video Production students have also served as Production Assistants, giving them valuable experience in their chosen career.

The Art Institute of New York City programs include Video Production, Interactive Media Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Restaurant Management, Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts. Graduates are trained for entry-level positions in their chosen fields through curricula that emphasize actual job skills and competencies necessary for success in the field.
